DJ SOTOFETT JAPAN TOUR 2025 (11/01 – 11/16)
DJ Sotofett はノルウェーの比類なきダイ·ハードなヴァイナル DJ であり、2014 年以来定期的に来日ツアーを 行なっている。それらのツアーは、Unit や forestlimit(東京)でのソロでのオールナイトセット、Noon や Compufunk(大阪)、Oppa-La(神奈川)、Precious Hall や Provo(札幌)など、毎回独自の方法で音楽的にハイライ トされてきた。いくつかのツアーでは LNS や DJ Fett Burger とのクラシックな B2B セットや、Osaruxo、Diskomo や Vera Dvale をフィーチャーした実験的なライヴが披露された。DJ Sotofett は、3 週間に渡るツアーで訪れた 各地のクラブで自身の未発表の作品のみを 6-8 時間プレイする試みを過去に 2 度行っており、このようなコ ンセプトは世界中のツアー DJ 達の中でも唯一無二と言えるだろう。2025年のツアーでは、DJ Sotofettは自らカットしたアセテート盤のダブプレート（全て未発表作品）を厳選してプレイします！「Resonance of Dub」というコンセプトを軸に、Disco-Dub、Steppers、Digi-Dub、Dubstep、Lovers Rock、Dub-Technoなど、ダンスフロアにおけるダブ・ミュージックのスペクトラムを探求し、クラシックなHip-HopやオリジナルなHouse MusicのDJ達から連綿と続くミキシング・スタイルでプレイします。DJ Sotofett の来日ツアーの多くは、特別なヴァイナルのリリースに彩られており、今年は LNS & DJ Sotofett meets Ekowmania によるスペシャルエディション 7”が各ベニューにて 1000 円で販売される。

DJ SOTOFETT バイオ
DJ Sotofett(ノルウェー、モス出身)はベルリンのクラブ Tresor のレジデント DJ であり、広範囲に及ぶプロ ダクションのカタログ、リミックス、コラボレーションや多数の別名義によって、過去 20 年以上に渡るア ンダーグラウンドなクラブシーンにおいて最も多作なアーティストの一人である。

過去 50 年のサウンドシステム文化に根差した DJ セットは、ハウス、エレクトロからテクノ、そしてダブ、 ソウル、ジャズ、ファンク、ヒップホップを横断する旅路である。DJ Sotofett のミキシングスタイルはクラ シックな Hip-Hop やオリジナルな House ミュージックの DJ 達と切り離すことができず、主にヴァイナルやア セテートのダブプレート、多くは自身の未発表の楽曲をプレイする。

昨年幕を開けたクラブのコンセプトである「Resonance of Dub」というダブによるダンスフロアへのスペクトラムー Disco Dub、Steppers、Digi-Dub、Dubstep、Lovers Rock、Dub Techno や Jungle ーは常に混ざり合っている。 「Resonance of Dub」は移動可能なコンセプトだが、いつも Qualitex のサウンドシステムによって提供される Strange Brew(ブリストル)と、ダブの完璧な交配が伝説的なテクノの文脈を貫通する Tresor(ベルリン)が メインのホームとなっている。これまで「Resonance of Dub」は Ekowmania、Angela Zia、Gilb'R、Arthur、Viceman や Kambo Super Sound らのゲストパフォーマーを招いてきた。

Sotofett のプロダクションやリミックスは、彼がプレイするセットと対を為しており、Afro、Dub や Jazz から の影響は London の Honest Jon’s Records からのリリースに、また 2025 年 6 月に発表された「 Globus Trax 」EP を 含む LNS とのコラボレーションによるクラシックな Techno や Electro からの影響は Tresor からのリリースに顕 れている。今年は、Clone West Coast Series からの「 DJ Sotofett & the Colours of Computer Generated Instruments 」に 続き、Jimi Tenor and Kabukabu とのコラボレーションによる Dub/Jazz アルバム「 No Warranty Dubs 」をリリースし ている。

さらに、自身のレーベルである Sex Tags Mania(2004)や Sex Tags Amfibia(2005)での足跡に加え、Techno/Houseレーベルである WANIA(2010)の作品は世界で最も安価なヴァイナルのディストリビューターで ある Fett-Distro を通じて精力的に配給されている。グラフィックデザイン作品については 90 年代後半以降、 レコードやフライヤー上で見つけることができるだろう。近年はベルリンの Manmade Mastering で、クラブ ミュージック向けのラウドカットに特化したカッティング·マスタリングエンジニアとしても活躍している。

DJ SOTOFETT JAPAN TOUR 2025 (11/01 – 11/16)
DJ Sotofett is Norway's unparallelled die hard vinyl DJ and has been touring regularly in Japan since 2014. Each tour is musically highlighted in it's own way, there's been all night solo-sets at Unit/Forestlimit (Tokyo), Noon/Compufunk (Osaka), Oppa-La (Kanagawa) or Precious Hall/Provo (Sapporo) among others. Some tours had classic back-to-back sets with LNS or DJ Fett Burger, others had live experimental concerts featuring Osaruxo, Diskomo and Vera Dvale. On two of his entire tours DJ Sotofett's played only his own unreleased productions for 6-8 hours in each club for three weeks – an unmatched concept by any touring DJ world wide. On the 2025 tour DJ Sotofett will strictly play his own self cut acetate dubplates – carrying only his own unreleased productions! The music is centered around his “Resonance of Dub” concept, exploring the dancefloor spectrum of Dub music; Disco-Dub, Steppers, Digi-Dub, Dubstep, Lovers Rock, and Dub-Techno— played with a mixing style inseparable from classic Hip-Hop and original House Music DJ's. Many of DJ Sotofett's Japan tours have been accompanied by a special edition vinyl release, and also this years tour will feature a special edition 7” featuring LNS & DJ Sotofett meets Ekowmania – sold at all venues for Yen 1000.

DJ SOTOFETT BIO
DJ Sotofett from Moss, Norway, is a resident DJ at the Tresor club in Berlin. With an extensive catalog of productions, remixes, collaborations, and numerous aliases, he is one of the most prolific artists in the underground club scene over the past two decades.

His DJ-sets are rooted in the last five decades of sound system music, from House, Electro to Techno, as well as journeys through Dub, Soul, Jazz, Funk, and Hip-Hop. DJ Sotofett’s mixing style is inseparable from classic Hip-Hop and original House Music DJ's and he plays primarily vinyl and acetate dubplates, usually a large part of his own unreleased music.

Last year saw the light of Resonance of Dub, a club concept exploring the dancefloor spectrum of Dub music; Disco-Dub, Steppers, Digi-Dub, Dubstep, Lovers Rock, Dub-Techno and Jungle—always mixed. Resonance of Dub is a travelling concept but has it's main homes at Strange Brew (Bristol) where it's always presented on the Qualitex Soundsystem, and at Tresor (Berlin) where the ultimate mix of Dub is penetrating the clubs legendary Techno context. Resonance of Dub had guest performers like Ekowmania, Angela Zia, Gilb'R, Arthur, Viceman and Kambo Super Sound among others.

Sotofett’s productions and remixes are a one-to-one reflection of what he plays in his sets. Afro, Dub, and Jazz influences can be found on London’s Honest Jon’s Records, while his Classic Techno and Electro collaborations with LNS are released on Tresor Records, including the “Globus Trax” EP from June 2025. This year also saw the release of his solo album “DJ Sotofett & the Colours of Computer Generated Instruments” on Clone West Coast Series, followed by the Afro-dub and Jazz album “No Warranty Dubs”, a collaboration with Jimi Tenor and Kabukabu.

In addition to his work on the Sex Tags Mania (2004) and Amfibia (2005) imprints, Sotofett runs the Techno/House label WANIA (2010) and is in full charge of the world’s cheapest vinyl record distributor, Fett-Distro. His graphic design work can be found on records and flyers since the late '90s, and he also works as a cutting/mastering engineer at Manmade Mastering in Berlin, specializing in loud cuts for club music.
